What We Do
What We Do
Sunday gatherings
WANT TO VISIT US?
We meet at 157a High Street, Prahran.
Our main weekly meetings are Sunday mornings at 10.30am.
We come together as a community and worship our great God. It's a time of singing, confession, hearing from God's Word, question time, regular Lord's Supper, and fellowship over morning tea.
We love visitors - come and join us any Sunday.
We run a Kid's Church during our morning gathering for kindergarten and primary school aged kids. At Kid's Church, we learn from the bible, pray, play games, and do other lesson-related activites. A creche is also available for children up to the age of 3 years.
Getting to St Matt's:
Drive
We have a large church carpark located behind the church building. To access it, turn off Chapel Street into Greville Street, then left into Macquarie Street, then left into St Matthew’s Way, then right into the carpark.
Tram
The number 6 tram runs straight past the church along High Street. Other nearby trams include the number 78 & 79.
Train
The Prahran train station is only a 5 minute walk from St Matt's.
Head to http://ptv.vic.gov.au/ to map your journey to St Matt's via public transport.

Hope Prahran
Hope Prahran is our care ministry for those who are finding things a little tough.
Want to connect with others? Perhaps feeling a bit lonely?
Drop in, sit, chat and relax in our safe, warm and friendly environment Mondays 10am until 1pm, Tuesdays 10am until 2pm, and Thursdays 10am until 12.30pm. Enjoy an informal time of morning tea and socialising where we supply tea, coffee and food at the church. Everyone is welcome! Most Tuesdays have free bread available to collect.
Curious? Confused? Convinced? Just plain sceptical?
Join us Thursdays at 10am for informal Bible learning, prayer and singing together with lunch to follow from 11.30am. We talk about what it means to trust God and belong to his people, share our hope, and ask questions in a relaxed and friendly setting. All are welcome – check us out.
Food Assistance
During all our opening times (excluding public holidays), we provide non-perishable food and other groceries to people in need.
Assistance is available for those who receive Centrelink benefits and hold a valid concession card, and who live locally (in the Stonnington council area). For more information or to make an appointment for food assistance, call our church office on 03 9510 3326 and ask to speak to Tony Sargent, or email tony@stmatts.com.au.
Partner with Hope Prahran
If you would like to get involved and partner with Hope Prahran, then tax deductible donations are possible through the Melbourne Anglican Benevolent Society. Don’t worry, all donations through this charity will be used directly by Hope Prahran.
Gospel Communities
Gospel Communities are organised love. They are smaller gatherings of people that meet on weeknights in homes across our city (mostly in the inner south, south-east, and east) to praise God, pray, study the Bible, serve each other and the city and encourage one another to grow in godliness.
To find out more, or ask about joining a GC, contact St Matt's office on 03 9510 3326 and ask to speak to Tash Griffiths or email imnew@stmatts.com.au.
